Meet Teal Berkowitz, MA, LMFT 111576
You’re already stronger than you think you are.
I’m glad you are here. It is time to take care of yourself, your life and your relationships.
You’re in the right place.
I am Teal Berkowitz, and I help individuals and couples just like you: ones that have it within them to live a more fulfilled life, gain control of their mental health symptoms and have healthier relationships, but just need the support to get there.
I help my clients find balance, confidence and fulfillment by equipping them with the insight and tools they need in order to better understand themselves, one another and to make desired changes.
Many of today’s solution for anxiety, trauma, self-esteem and couples therapy includes one-sided therapy sessions and worksheets, leading so many to feel unheard, judged and bored in therapy. Therapy with me is a place for you to feel heard, seen and understood. My approach is highly engaging and dynamic where I will be asking thought-provoking questions, go a bit deeper in order to understand why you are feeling the way you are now and, of course, we will find solutions to the problems you are facing.
First, we will examine the history of the problems that are causing you to feel overwhelmed, disconnected and stuck. Then, we work on behavioral, emotional, communication, cognitive changes that will be best for you. Through our work together, you’ll be better equipped with the skills and confidence you need to thrive in your life and your relationships.
I get it. I mean, I really get it.
My training in anxiety, self-esteem and relationship functioning means I have the expertise you need and deserve when healing from anxiety, relationship issues, past trauma and low self-esteem. But at the end of the day, you want to know you’re working with someone who “gets” what it means to live with anxiety and self-doubt, struggling with past trauma and relationship struggles.
I get it because I’ve been there. So when we work together, you won’t just get a trained therapist. You’ll get a real relatable person; someone who truly understands what you are going through.
My guiding principles
Authenticity
I believe in order to have success in therapy, there needs to be a genuine and true connection.
Genuineness
Sincerity and honesty are key to a trusting relationship.
Loving Kindness
We should give ourselves and others the kind of compassion you would give to your best friend.
Acceptance
I accept you as you are. Period.
